The Twirl family continues to successfully expand well into its second year as a sought after imprint. The first year of releases from label runners Shaun J. Wright & Alinka featured remixes from the likes of Kim Ann Foxman, JD Samson, Snuff Crew and Lil' Mark, with support from BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac and Heidi, alongside notable artists Kenny Glasgow, Groove Armada and Robert Owens. The second year of releases has included the stellar 'Don't Fight It' from Stereogamous featuring Shaun J. Wright and the dynamic 'The Wisdom To Know The Difference' EP from Ena Lind. Next up is the dark & dirty 'It's Acid' from the Apollo Music Group and Bump Music boss Lil' Mark and dancefloor veteran Della.
The release opens with 'It's Acid (Purple Om Edit)', its undulating bassline and punchy percussion blended to smooth perfection. Della's hauntingly sensual vocal delivery exquisitely complements the restrained, yet powerful, groove.
The rawer, stomping alternate version, 'It's Acid (Micro Dot Edit)', is a rougher mix with sly vocal changes certain to wind up any dancefloor.
Next up is the slinky, yet forceful, remix from Twirl chief Alinka. Her addition of moody chords, stuttering percussion, and distorted vocals is certain to move the dancefloor deeper into the depths of the night.
The release closes with the 'Dellapella', the perfect tool for any DJ desiring to add a touch of steamy vocals to their set.
