The Stereophonic ep is the first release for the French duo on Bargrooves. Numaro are otherwise known as Christophe Parmentier & Jeremy Harfaux and together they create deep, sublime and moving house music.
The Numaro sound is a unique one and through their immense skill in the studio they manage to create something truly different on each track. The running theme with Numaro productions and with this ep too, is the dream like world that this single is the soundtrack to. Rivers of synth led harmonies and tight jackin beats weave in and out of each other to create a solid structure and frame from which all other intricate elements hang.
The EP kicks of with the title track The Stereophonic, from the start the warpey sub bass wobbles along with a comfortable west coast bump. When the melody hits, it takes a subtler turn with a blissed out approach that peaks with an uplifting breakdown. This is the perfect start or even a close to a set.
Basic starts with solid beats and a full bassline that builds and builds and is complimented by touches of fresh piano keys and samples that fire off when you least expect it and add flashes of brilliant colour! The groove in Basic will have you doing some serious low down jackin moves!
Closing the ep, Losing Control really does mean business!! Taking the Numaro sound into deeper tech house territory with a bassline which will kick and pump in any club! There are lots of peaks and troughs which all come together to get everyone moving! Percussion and space-edged samples keep this track bubbling along and when that bassline hits again, you've lost control!
