Tamarak unleashes Telemetry for his first official Woodwork outing, offering a preliminary glimpse at his forthcoming debut EP.

Telemetry is a textbook example of Josh Searles' signature dark minimal dub style. As one half of Daega Sound, Josh is known for a series of pulverizing releases that have been essential to the identity of Vancouver's vibrant bass music scene.

Stripped down to core elements, this track opens a vast sound field where extremes of sub bass meet crystalline chords, shattered echoes and effected percussion. The beats and musical elements hint at Josh's deep roots in drum n bass as well as proper dubstep influences. Ambiguous melodic structures speak through the breaks while the flow of the track sets a more relaxed, meditative mood.

Pete Grove contributes a melodic techno version to expand the context of Tamarak's sonic narrative. A reconstruction of percussion and bass from the original, the remix further incorporates rebounding chord hits and a slinky high register bass melody. The result is a powerful late night techno cut, a barrage of spiky minimal house elements poking through huge surges of sub.
