Real Change

Keep Schtum & DJ Bubbles

Paper Disco
PAPDLS170 | 2014-07-03
After debuting on Trash The Wax Vol. 1 with a bob-on slice of disco edit goodness, we're made up to have this new EP from Ireland's finest, Keep Schtum and DJ Bubbles. They've delivered three tracks that ooze class and deserve a place in any discerning jock's box.

Kicking things off with Real Change (Version 1), it's a straight up summertime infused number with a hint of disco that is deep house with a soul. With rolling sub, hooky garagy filtering keys and a hint of live it hypnotises its way to the floor.

The second version keeps to the same formula but ramps up the reverb and drops the chord stabs in favour of disco licking wah wah guitar. Coupled with some swirly style synth stabs it hits the point where balearic meets basement.

Do Ya Love goes for the atmosphere of a murky underground shebang with a hooky filtered organ chord over a thudding 4/4. With an added Sylvia Striplin chopped vocal to ensure people stick firmly to their dance floor position throughout, it does its thing and it does it supremely.

Keep Schtum has been getting support from the likes of Dj Harvey, Greg Wilson, The Unabombers, Heion, In Flagranti and many more so we're happy to welcome him to the Paper family!
