DEBASSER RETURNS WITH NEW EP "DONE" ON WIDE RECORDS
WIDE Records is proud to announce the labels 40th release “Done”, the latest EP from UK Bass pioneer and producer Debasser.
This three-track EP blends UK Bass, breaks, electro, and a nostalgic nod to the 2000s with a dash of Big Beat.
The title track “Done” is another Debasser classic that showcases his signature wobbles, rumbles, bleeps, and beats. The track serves as a reminder of those late-night escapades when we may have indulged in excessive revelry. Despite its darker tone, it retains Debasser’s playful production techniques, ensuring it’s a true crowd-pleaser.
“Slim Chance” pays homage to the vibrant Brighton boutique scene of the past, featuring looped soul samples, chopped breaks, and a driving bass line that creates an infectious and floor-filling track.
Finally, “Old” is a slightly slower tempo electro-bass tribute to those who may be numerically older but still feel as young as ever. High blips and low subby pads create a wall of sound, accompanied by vocal cuts and loops, as the track progresses through its builds and drops.
Debasser has been producing dance music since the early 2000s. His debut track was released on GTI Recordings in Detroit by Disco D. The track was quickly picked up by Richie Hawtin, leading to a release on NovaMute, followed by tracks on Seed, Balkan Vinyl, Input Output Inc., and his own WIDE Records. He was part of Andrew Weatherall's Haywire agency, playing their parties and countless other clubs and festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as DJing on Radio 1.
With an eclectic sound and genre-bending approach, he blends jungle/drum and bass, techno, UKG, electro, house, and anything else that catches his fancy to create an unforgettable sound, always centred around parties and bass.
"Done" will be available on all major streaming platforms at the end of May.
