Classic is back - Re-Mastered & Re-Issued
Originally released on Village, Classic picked up this obscure gem and, with the addition of some bad ass mixes from Jacob London and Radio Slave, have made it more readily available. DJ Ali (a.k.a. Ali Meghji) has recorded tracks for Village, Tilted, Leaf, Bombay and Nightshift, and is definitely a producer to watch out for. The original ‘Rough Cut’ shows off his trademark ruff beats & tight, crunchy programming, and is perfectly complemented by Tim Fuller’s whaling vocal harmonies that some liken to D'Angelo or Prince. Jacob London’s ‘Sweaty End Mix’ takes the track in a different direction with skipping drums, off kilter basslines and darker keys creating a more ominous feel to the original. Bootleg kings Radio Slave complete the package with a filthy bottom end interpretation. Full of glitches, bleeps & interference, this is everything you’d expect from these prolific Brighton boys, and more. A stripped down and minimal mix with sparse production, just waiting for those dark nights ahead.
