Solar Distance is a label run by UNER and this new release features originals material from the label boss himself, plus a dramatic remix from Monkey Safari.

UNER is a Spanish artist at the forefront of electronic music with a sound that leans towards melodic house and Techno. Following releases on labels such as Diynamic, Bedrock, Culprit, Suara, Saved Records and Sasha’s imprint Last Night On Earth, UNER has earned global recognition for his trademark sound that’s tailored to the dancefloor.

Monkey Safari are a German duo whose pulsating sound rich with melody has seen them feature tracks and remixes on labels ranging from Kompakt and Minus, to Suara, with much of their original music also coming out via their own label Hommage. Popular remix artists, the Monkey Safari makeover treatment is in high demand and their remix on this release is a fine example of why many hold them in such high regard.

The first original titled “Skylon” is slow building with a stripped back groove that leaves space for the poignant pads leading the track. Progressive, its structure introduces a variety of melodies that each change the mood of this epic journey. Fans of UNER will be familiar with his style of melodic mastery will not be disappointed to hear his breathtaking trademark sound!

Second is the Monkey Safari remix of “Skylon” that from the offset has a toughened sound with thudding bass stabs and rigid percussion. Growling low end pads create dark atmosphere, and the originals pads are used as sparse textures rather than lead sounds. Ferocious and menacing but still hypnotic, this alternative version provides perfect contrast to the uplifting original.

Titled “Bahai”, UNER’s second original track finishes the release with clattering percussion and plucked synth stabs. Thrilling bass swells and an intricate melody with emotional energy add finishing touches to this shimmering masterpiece that unfolds into a crescendo of dancefloor bliss.
