Raw District is made up of Vernon Bara and Massimo DaCosta who had previously collaborated under the alias of Vernon&DaCosta, and using that name contributed to labels such as Robsoul, OFF Recordings and OM Records.

Originally the duo had a sound best described as soulful house and keeping some of those elements, the guys have focused their Raw District alias in a direction that's both techy and melodic. In their own words 'Raw District is about fewer samples and more organic influences'.

'Konflikt' opens the EP with lush pads that are soon joined by stripped back percussion and vocal chants. Each additional element adds to the intricate sonic picture, with gentle key stabs creating a poignant mood to eloquent sound design. Melodic tech house at its most stylish, this chic cut is has a glistening finish and polished aesthetic.

'Morgon' is on a very different vibe from the first cut with an uplifting melody and an arpeggiated bass line both building intensity. Despite the track having no percussion, it's still got a captivating dance floor presence emphasised with various bass drops that add to the growing tension. With a clever use of strings, this electronic track is almost like a classical concerto condensed into five minutes.

'Litaca' reintroduces percussion with a framework where dramatic audio textures are draped. The urgency of the lead synth melody contrasts nicely with the otherwise laidback mood, and everything combined this is definitely the most club orientated track in the EP.
