Double Decker Three - Alan Nieves & Francesco Poggi
In the third edition of the Double Decker series, we welcome Alan Nieves and Francesco Poggi to the label. Featuring two tracks from each, this release packs a variety of sounds to fit a wide range of applications.
Alan Nieves gets us started with ‘Black Label’, a medium paced groover that’s packed with percussion, vocal samples, and a smooth bass pattern that doubles up as the melody. His second offering of ‘Rock Steady’ develops further on these melodic foundations, with a more uptempo groove adding anx extra slice of excitement to this summery track. Laced with intricate breakdowns that are filled with tense synths and proceeded by big drops, Alan Nieves offers two tracks that are geared perfectly to bridge the gap between warm up and peak time sets.
On the flip-side, Franceso Poggi takes us back to the underground with his minimal techno rollers. ‘NEUHM’ slows the tempo down and doubles up on the darkness. Deep and heavy kicks resonate on top of a dark-sub bass, while a memorable vocal excerpt floats on top. In the final track of the EP, ‘Take It Easy’, Francesco picks up the pace, adding layers of percussion and hypnotic synths. Energetic yet suspenseful, this track is aimed to take the late night and after hour sessions to the next level.
Double Decker Three, featuring Alan Nieves and Francesco Poggi, exclusively on NoExcuse Records.
