Continuing in the fine tradition of stomping grooves, I am extra excited to unveil the second instalment of the AGILITY Various Artists Compilation series.
Fabian Argomedo kicks things off with classy shuffling and gigantic subs, later allowing a disjointed soulful vocal to spice things up. Rafa Barrios' picks up from there with some intense rollage and smooth bass, and "Yacid" from Ramiro Lopez holds things down with a mighty rhythm section and busy snare edits.
Things take a completely different turn with "Trauma", where a rubber-band bass permeates the thick atmospherics and intricately programmed elements. Sean Collier adds some welcomed bleakness to the package which leads to Juan Ddd's cheekily titled "Dead In My Garden", bringing the dizzyness from the ever-fluctuating bassline.
