OH LORD originally came out on vinyl in 2003 on MoreHouse and found its way into the record bags (remember those?) of a who's who list of House Music heavyweights. The song which included the now infamous 'Preachapella' sermon landed on numerous high profile compilations and went on to become one of the most successful releases in our vast catalogue. Fast forward 20 years to 2023 and global superstar Black Coffee blessed us by introducing it to a whole new audience. Viral videos of him mashing up the 'Preachapella' with his smash hit 'THE RAPTURE PT III' started popping up everywhere on social media garnering millions of views. He did this at some of the biggest festivals and nightclubs throughout the entire year. It became a highlight in his set (a religious moment with fans pulling out their lighters), culminating with him performing it 'live' at a sold out Madison Square Garden concert in NYC in Oct. 2023 with an orchestra and guest vocalist. Numerous bootlegs of his mashup started popping up on Soundcloud & You Tube. There was even discussion about releasing an official treatment on Virgin, but it ultimately never came to fruition when Coffee had an unfortunate plane accident which took him out of commission in early 2024.

The introduction of the powerful 'Preachapella' to a whole new generation of House enthusiasts and the phenomenal reaction it's received has inspired a whole new take on the classic from one of the original writers / producers - Groove Junkies' Evan Landes. The message of this timely reinterpretation is still as potent as it was 20 years ago (if not more!). Evan has enlisted the services of long-time collaborator and underground legend Scott K., who's donning his APEX PREY moniker for the first time. Unlike Coffee's usage of just the 'Preachapella,' the two have raided the MoHo vault and gleaned select lead vocals & adlibs from Indeya's stellar performance, along with background vocals from her and the late, great Diane Carter. This, along with Rev. Murrell Garr's powerful sermon and a killer peak hour track, promises to keep the dancefloors movin' & uplift many a soul in the process. The Redemption Remix, Immaculate Instrumental & Blessed Beats round out a package of soulful, pumpin' grooves to suit varied tastes. It's time to re-open your heart n' mind to the spirit and power of 'OH LORD.'
