Fresh on the trail of this year's exceptional long player 'Noir', Steve Bug returns with perhaps his most deep house-oriented track in a while - 'The Long Run'.
Teaming up with US house legend Mr. V, who inititally donated vocals only, the collaboration brought up Mr V's own interpretation of Bug's track. This release is as delicious a serving of classic New York deep house as you will hear all year - or any year.
Dessous' main man is at the controls, riding out a sumptuous, Rhodes-driven groove that references golden era Kerri Chandler and friends, but remains completely rooted in 2012. Mr V's spoken word vocal lays out the manifesto for these two house pioneers - both are committed to quality music, made with passion and respect.
Next stop on 'The Long Run' is Mr. V's stunning take on the same track. Ratcheting up the percussive elements, the New York native injects hints of the Latin rhythms that define many of his productions, making this into a stone-cold club banger whatever the party.
