London based imprint N.o.N Music returns with its fifth release this summer from Seldom Seen Smith in the form of ‘Release Yourself’. Chuggy, hypnotic, Deep House music is the order of the day for N.o.N005. Smith’s original is a gradually evolving introspective affair comprising of lush chords, pulsing bottom end and heavily processed vocals. On remix duties Mark Chambers delivers a typically cool and calculated take on the original that pays due homage whilst bringing a slightly different flavour. Label boss The Pushamann’s Stripped Sunset Mix is a dreamy re-imagining that hones in on a steady resonated bass groove and vibrant, expansive pads. Rounding off the package the Hexler Drum Tool Mix strips Release Yourself to its core, focusing on the weighty drum groove… a fitting way to round off a fine release from N.o.N music.
