THE CHECKUP

Berlin and Valencia-based The Checkup is synonymous with energetic house sounds of old and new, maintaining a soulful outlook and positive storytelling in his DJ sets, both of which he has received global acknowledgment for.
While traveling the world, he finds himself on a never-ending search for rare 90s records to uncover gems of the past. The last few years were notably the finest year to date as he toured South America multiple times, in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama & Costa Rica. He is also a regular of European hotspots like Berlin, London, Paris, Ibiza, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Tbilisi, and is a very established figure in Berlin where he plays Sisyphos, Watergate, Katerblau, Wilde Renate and Oxi to name a few. 2024 saw his debut at Club Chinois as a resident for Kerri Chandler's "Kaoz Theory Showcases" in Ibiza. In 2025, he will continue with Hï for Joseph Capriati, Chinois for Kerri and Akasha for Peace & Music as well as a resident for Barcelona's Jackies parties at La Terrazza.
His dynamic US house-influenced sound has also seen him showcase his music on legendary labels such as Snatch!, Chaos Theory, Nervous Records, Large Music, Madhouse, Toy Tonics, Meta, and Twirl to name a few. As of late, some key releases dropped on his own imprint "Heattraxx", "Kerri Chandler's "Kaoz Theory", Riva Starr's "Snatch" and Dj Steaw's "House Puff, Darius Syrossian's "Moxy Musik" on vinyl and digital.
In 2025 The Checkup continues to propel stellar sounds on his own Heattraxx for the last 10 years, a project which has seen him sign the likes of Riva Starr, K'Alexi Shelby, Dam Swindle, Demuir, Manda Moor, Ale Castro, Demarkus Lewis, Lolu Menayed, Dj Merci, Nat Wendelli to name a few. The label will also launching a vinyl series. On a day-to-day basis, he holds down the fort at another download site as the Vice President of Global Curation and the House curator, a nod of approval for his impeccable taste within the genre and closely related vibes.
It is no surprise that in recent years The Checkup has received love and support from some of the most inspiring artists within the scene time and time again. A few artists who recognize the realness are Kerri Chandler, Riva Starr, Luke Solomon, Laurent Garnier, TSHA, Lea Lisa, Archie Hamilton, Dj Sneak, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Manda Moor, Alinka, Ben Rau, Mark Broom, Darius Syrossian and Honey Dijon, a mixed bag of support marking the true versatility of his productions and personality in the booth, with some of his productions gracing the likes of Berlin's "Panorama Bar" or Ibiza's "Amnesia" and Manchester's "Warehouse Project" dancefloors.
