Originally conceived as the housier counterpart to Plus 8 Records, the label helped define the raw, funk-driven North American sound of the early 90s, delivering timeless classics such as "House 4 All" and "Do Da Doo" that continue to resonate across generations of DJs. After a successful digital-era resurgence in the 2000s, Definitive entered a new chapter in 2023 when Get Physical Music acquired and relaunched the full catalogue from Berlin.
