The first installment of Balans Records in 2018 brings the talented female Parisian, DJ and producer, Hemka, to the Dutch label. Opening the EP, ’707 Collision’ rushes in with subtly shifting groove repetition, suspenseful melodies and echoes of Detroit. The atmospheric ’Nocturnal Rounds’ keeps the fast-paced rhythm with added Sci-fi flavor – peak time techno at its best!
On the flip side Balans Records boss, Tripeo, offers his own interpretation to the title track and following in that groove he works his magic to ecstatic, infectious effect in a playful, funky mood. ’707 Collision (Tripeo Beatless Tool)’ on the other hand is swapping the pressure for something much lighter, a sublime journey to the deepside.
