Four big ones from Brazil courtesy of Eduardo Marotte, kicking off with ‘Everybody’, a tracky workout of shouty vocals, funk steels, stomping b-line and filtered stabs meeting all the necessary peak time requirements. Next are two versions of ‘The King’, one with more vocals, one with less, a straight to the point disco gem up that’ll blow the pants off unsuspecting rug cutters, proper Saturday night feel-good funk action done right. Rounding things off ‘Phonk Promises’ messes around with its jazzy constituents to deliver murky rhodes with haunted jazz, shades of Detroit cut up action.
