Iranian born but now firmly ensconced as part of the Canadian underground scene, Navid Mehr has been a long time contributor the electronic music movement, seen now with his, "Space Nomads" on Particles.

Originally part of the Beat Syndrome outfit alongside Hamed Safi, the intelligent Mehr has been responsible for a catalogue of high profile releases under his former production name over an impressive ten-year period. A decision to branch out under his own name has brought no less success as a growing portfolio of original and remix material has found its way onto CHANGE AUDIO, Visceral and Just Movement. With his work already remixed by industry stalwarts, Silinder, Andre Sobota and Pole Folder, Mehr's work has received high-profile attention.

Furthermore, the January 2015 "Gathas" EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat imprint including vocal contributions from the multi-talented Amber Long, has further cemented his growing reputation among industry tastemakers. Taking his bow on Particles, "Space Nomads" is a driving, melodic work that drifts enticingly with muted riffs that grow in stature and prominence. Echoes of Petar Dundov's evolutionary style are prevalent as atmospheric pads mirror the lead line in meandering manner post-breakdown, to create a work of impressive quality and high production values.

Taking on remix duties, Russian born producer, Konstantin Alt has become a highly prolific and successful name under his LoQuai production moniker. Beginning his experimentation in electronic music in the late 1990s, LoQuai drank in all styles from ambient and trance to breaks and drum and bass before moving effortlessly into the progressive house arena with considerable aplomb. Studying audio production at the SAE School in Frankfurt was a further catalyst to success as LoQuai found a home on Mistique Music with almost 150 production credits to his name, backed by further work on Clinique, Jetlag Digital and Balkan Connection.

"The Native Language" was a considerable success for Particles after its initial appearance on the "Spring Particles 2014" compilation, while a collaboration with Ewan Rill for the "Winter 2015" edition has also been a notable highlight. Using Navid Mehr's elegant melodies to gorgeous effect in the opening movement, the LoQuai remix of "Space Nomads" then launches into a huge swung, percussive offering, replete with deep bass groove. A sublime lead line slowly emerges in the breakdown before twinkling motifs, arpeggio and additional production create a work of real class and elegance.

With Navid Mehr's excellent production work in full evidence, "Space Nomads" has found a home on Particles as LoQuai provides a further excellent interpretation.
