In its premiere release, Athereal Records promises masterful works of aural delight from the opening beat of its very first track, brought to you by sought after progressive savants from around the globe. In this release, the Greek phenom Stergios starts the label off in a big way with an artfully deep yet uplifting melodic track, Katharsis. Stergios features a plethora of keyed synths that dance around a sighing vocal pad all the while playfully bantering with an old school progressive bass line. Feri takes the original synthesizer and dangles it tauntingly by a crisp hat line over an ominous bass, using the percussion to reach out and grab the listener. In his remix, John Cosani uses subtle tweaks to the original pad sequence to further deepen the track, bringing its dark side to light with a throbbing, heart pounding progressive trance bass line. Rogier & Stage Van H deliver the airy melodic sound that listeners have come to love, using gusting white noise rises throughout the track to blow the listener into an island of tropical sounding synthesizers topped with an almost housey bass.
