Ngwaka Son Systéme - Music for right here right now straight from the megacity of Kinshasa, DRC.
Back in January 2025, the musicians of Ngwaka Son Systeme led a series of instrument building workshops at the Centre Sociale Mokili Na Pochein order to teach and inspire the youth of the Bandalungwa district.
After completing the workshop , recording sessions took a place at the Quibla Studio located in the premises of the social center. The result has been compiled and shared with the world as "Lipate EP" - including two remixes by some of our beloved friends in the Latin Electronic scene, thus rebuilding and maintaining sonic bridges between the sister continents.
The workshop and conference was funded and supervised by our partners of Roskilde Africa Fund and its documentation has been captured in several media formats, to preserve and make it available to the world.
The project celebrates the creative visions of various leaders of Kinshasa's music scene. It celebrates their innovative approach to building instruments and creating music, giving the community creative merit at a local, and global level.
