A New Album by Moscow Producer Artem Xio to Be Released in September on STVOL Label - 'kak by to ni bylo'
In September 2025, Moscow-based producer and DJ Artem Xio is releasing a new album titled 'kak by to ni bylot' on the STVOL label. The album features 12 tracks woven into a cohesive narrative, blending warm analog melodic house, atmospheric breakbeat structures, and references to the sounds of early rave and jungle.
The album includes 9 house tracks inspired by the legacy of artists like Larry Heard, Kerri Chandler, and Underground Resistance. Two more tracks balance on the edge of house and breakbeat, evoking the spirit of the '90s and UK breakbeat hardcore. The final piece is a noir, cinematic jungle track that feels like an epilogue to a night-time story.
The album's title refers to an inner dialogue - a moment of acceptance and forward motion, no matter the circumstances:
'No matter what - you keep moving. That's what life is.'
The visual side of the album is minimalist yet expressive: the cover features a glass of water with a slice of lemon against a black background. This image pays homage to classical painting - particularly the still lifes of Ivan Khrutsky - while also symbolizing everyday life. The cover speaks not of action, but of the moment in between - when everything pauses and you're alone with yourself, feeling that you're alive - no matter what.
'No Matter What' will be available on all digital platforms via the STVOL label and released as a double vinyl with support from Wax Ninja.
Marketing plans to be announced later.
