Tash's Movement Recordings opens the summer season by welcoming Simos Tagias back to the label for a new EP. Since first emerging over a decade ago, the Greek artist has continued to earn the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Revered imprints such as Mango Alley, Meanwhile, Proton Music, Sudbeat and Vapour have all served as recent landing spots for his groovy melodic sound. Movement Recordings has also been a comfortable home for the Simos, having notched sixteen discography credits since making his label debut in 2014 with a contribution to the popular Technical Progress series. Most recently, it was last year's ‘Katla' which proved to be a highlight of Movement's 2024 catalog. With 2025 already yielding standout releases for Manual Music, Pattern and UV, Simos now returns to Movement Recordings with ‘Atom', alongside remixes from Maze 28 and Not Demure.

The lead selection 'Melted Pot' finds Simos showcasing a progressive state of mind with a keen sense of dancefloor dynamics. Its deep drive is anchored by strong kick drums, inventive effects and swing-heavy percussion, tastefully building to a wide-eyed intensity of looping hypnotism. With a modern spirit, Simos pulls from his expansive repertoire as the main break takes shape, infusing shimmering synth mutations with a vortex of orbiting effects, before a timely build unleashes a hazy melodic finale. The companion piece and also title selection 'Atom' follows and is an apt barometer of where Simos' headspace is at, as he lets muscular beats lay the foundation for rebounding rhythms, flickering percussion and spastic effects to create a darker monochrome. Energies shift and tension rises as a plethora of effects emerges across the main break, bringing depth, tension and character in the process, before getting washed away in a wave of effects and noise for a thrilling conclusion that's perfectly dialled for peaktime play.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Melted Pot' is Maze 28. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has become one of the most hotly tipped progressive house artists that the underground has to offer. In just four short years the Durres resident has earned support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while his melodic creations have found a home on Clubsonica, Juicebox Music, RKP and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. Movement Recordings has also been a landing spot for the talented Albanian, with April of last year marking his label debut with ‘Sense', a three-track showcase recorded alongside fellow countryman TEELCO. Now, fresh off a remix for Electronic Groove, Maze 28 returns to Movement with a powerful rendition of ‘Melted Pot'. Tough pulsating basslines and charged rhythms set the course for snatches of squelchy synths and ominous effects to work their magic. A prophetic contrast from the talented Albanian, and one which is explored further as the main break takes shape, infusing melody and colour for maximum emotional response, before the thunderous framework re-emerges for a melodic finale.

The release concludes with Not Demure returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Atom'. Born in Argentina and now based in Spain, Not Demure has made impressive strides since first emerging in 2017. In finding a perfect balance between progressive and organic house, the Mar del Plata native would receive support from world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sebastien Leger, while also showcasing his music via Mango Alley, Meanwhile, RKP, Univack and more. The Movement label collective has also been a comfortable home for Not Demure, with five projects released since making his debut in 2021 with 'New Resilience' via Movement Limited. Always a creative remixer, Not Demure now brings his talents to Movement once again, putting a unique twist on ‘Atom'. Groovy and rhythmic throughout, the Argentine opts for a peaktime approach for what results in a dramatic nine-minute journey. Cosmic effects, deconstructed sonics and haunted atmospheric refrains unite across the first act, perfectly setting up a widescreen break. Buzzing atmospheres create a character-rich backdrop as the centrepiece evolves, adding an otherworldly flair to the journey, before rising tonal tension segues into a grooved-out drop and full on finale.
