September 9th sees the release of US producer/DJ Physical Therapy aka 25 year-old Daniel Fisher's first release for Grizzly, the 'Whitelabel' EP.
Fisher - "New Jersey's preeminent 420-friendly remixer and hot yoga enthusiast turned urban cowboy", according to The Fader - started getting noticed after posting Soundcloud edits of everyone from Moby and Alicia Keys to Matrixxman and CFCF, and playing genre-melding DJ sets (taking in jazz, metal and spoken word) at parties across NYC including his own regular warehouse parties. Last summer Hippos In Tanks put out his debut EP, 'Safety Net', which saw support from the likes of Pitchfork, Resident Advisor and Dazed & Confused.
The 'Whitelabel' EP features three original productions that go some way to showing why Physical Therapy is one of the most exciting young electronic talents on the block right now. The title track is a joyous, hi-hat laden stomper that at its culmination sounds like it's about to take lift off, while club jam 'Rolling on Sunday' is anything but Sunday music.
The horns in the aptly titled 'That Horn Track' come cloaked in ghostly reverb over frantic beats, and the package is completed by a percussive remix of the title track from Canada's Nautiluss aka Graham Bertie, previously known as Grahmzilla of Thunderheist and the Grizzly-affiliated Bassanovva. As Nautiluss, Bertie has released accomplished EPs on London-based label Hemlock and Tiga's Turbo Recordings.
'Whitelabel' is released on Grizzly, the label founded 3 years ago by leading UK-born Los Angeles-residing DJ, producer and Kiss FM radio host Sinden.
