Matthias Vogt is founder and one half of the recently defunct production duo Motorcitysoul. Under their Motorcitysoul moniker Vogt and C-Rock released several groundbreaking records on a number of highly acclaimed house imprints including Freerange, Simple and Aus Music. As a solo artist he has produced on labels such as Large Music, Urbantorque and Komplex de Deep, his most notable release being ‘Pianissimo’ on New York’s Saw Recordings which was championed by the likes of Sven Väth, Paul Woolford, Laurent Garnier and Josh Wink.

Here Matthias makes his Lo:Rise debut delivering a three track EP that’s in keeping with his signature deep and melodic style. On the lead track ‘Falling’ Matthias recruits the vocal skills of Andrew Herbertson whose hypnotic tones compliment this atmospheric groove. On the dub Matthias strips the vocals right back allowing the sub bass to take control whilst the melody dances around the tight percussion. The multi layered ‘Sierra Nevada’ builds slowly and before you know it you’re engulfed by a plethora of resonating textures that creep up and smack you square in the face, perfect 7am tackle.
