Rounding out the year on a high note, SLC-6 Music welcomes Dany Dz back to the label. Since first appearing on the progressive house scene in 2019, the Argentinean artist has notched standout releases via 3rd Avenue, Droid9 and Strangers Beats. SLC-6 Music has also been a landing spot for Dany, recording three remixes and an original since making his label debut in 2020. Now on the strength of a remix for K Loveski's ‘Renzzo,' Dany returns to SLC-6 Music with ‘Variance', alongside remixes from Echo Daft and Juani Ottati. Beginning with ‘Recovery,' Dany aims squarely at the dance floor with warm rolling beats, hopeful pads and nostalgic melodies creating that perfect balance of groove and musicality. Meanwhile, title selection ‘Variance' is equally impressive with its mysterious monochromes eventually opening up into muscular grooves, granular textures and chirping acid lines. Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Recovery' is Sri Lankan artist and Time After Time label boss Echo Daft. The Colombo resident opens up the groove for a deeper, more spacious affair, while aquatic electronics and a whimsical breakdown make for a hugely satisfying eight-minute rendition. The release concludes with Juani Ottati making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Variance'. The Argentinean artist takes inspiration from the original in crafting a nostalgic rendition, one which relies on emotive chord changes, bubbly arps and timely vocal fragments to capture your imagination.
