Some tracks just have it. A timeless sound. No matter how old they are, they still sound fresh.

The secret duo Backbeat Convention’s first and only single “Love + Happiness” is one of those.

Originally released on vinyl in 1991, it was never a huge hit, but slowly the track found its way to the chillout bars in Ibiza where it became a favorite anthem. 31 years later, “Love + Happiness” is still being played by the island’s top DJs. Just recently it was included on legendary DJ Harvey’s latest volume in his compilation series “The Sound of Mercury Rising”.

Now, for the first time ever, “Love + Happiness” has been remixed. The 2022 version is the work of two other Ibiza legends – DJ Pippi and Willie Graff – whose classy update manages to keep the original’s warmth and atmosphere while carefully adding some modern sounds and beats.

“We felt the song was already perfect and adding too many new elements would just be confusing. A track like this must be treated with respect. We’re very happy with the result and for the opportunity to work with one of our all-time favorite tracks,” says DJ Pippi.

In addition to the new remix, we have also included the two original versions in slightly remastered versions.
