Following recent releases from the likes of Ultra Nate and Luisito Quintero, New Jersey's own Vega Records returns with an all new original production by label chief, Grammy Award-winner and one half of acclaimed production and remix duo Masters At Work, the one and only Louie Vega.

'Ponce' is the first track in a new series of releases taking inspiration from the musical landscapes of countries around the world. The Caribbean archipelago of Puerto Rico is the first stop and, through 'Ponce', we are taken on a journey through the country's musical culture made up of African, Taino, Spanish and North American influences.

A relentless drum beat, playful keys, building horns, warbling effects and an infectious vibe make 'Ponce' a track of the highest order and one which is destined to become a main-stay in boxes around the world following its release!

Evoking the very spirit and energy of Puerto Rico and tis beautiful people, 'Ponce' pays tribute to traditional instruments like the gueiro and maracas and the traditional African-originated musical stlyes of 'bomba and plena' which will have you feeling like you're getting down at a street carnival in downtown San Juan in no time!

Throwing caution to the wind and embracing the world's plethora of different musical styles and influences, Vega Records continues to lead from the front in showcasing top tracks from the four corners of the globe and 'Ponce' is the first of many tracks to come from the Vega stable that will pay tribute to world music.
