Stalwart Tokyo based master producer and DJ Masanori Morita & Noboru Abe, aka STUDIO APARTMENT readies the next release on ever building imprint N.E.O.N. Here he offers up the original track from the spellbinding 2020~ album, entitled 'Anunnaki', featuring frequent collaborator and vocalist MAUMA. Enlisting two fantastic remixes from Tokyo based duo Kandarta and TsuruSwing.

The latest single from last-years long-player, entitled 'Anunnaki', which is the name of a group of deities of the ancient Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, and Babylonians, cements MAUMAs underlying themes of ancient ritual, faith, and spirit from African folklore and here, through to the Middle East.

Encapsulating instrumentation, melodic and rhythmic themes from this culturally rich part of the world; sounds including vibrant stringed instruments and earthy percussions entwine a dense spread of underlying synth tones and undulating drum machine grooves that are
consistently becoming the fabric of the STUDIO APARTMENT sound. Off-kilter vocal chants top a pulsating, harmonic departure from the consistent drone of Morita's humming synths for a brief moment of melodic ecstasy, entering at choice intervals to push through and
offer the listener a true sense of organic euphoria.

Following with fellow Tokyoites Kandarta's mesmerising remix, which embodies a true sense of entrancement from the onset.
Oscillating bass-tones meet incisions of rhythmic juxtaposition from the shimmering ride cymbals and quivering 16th note hi-hats.
While a dreamlike synth lead dominates the centre stage, a mass of pulsing counter-harmonies presents a relationship of pure enrapture.

TsuruSwing offers a truly original take on 'Anunnaki' where his quintessential studio sounds transport us deeper into this space voyage, embarking from the dusty Assyrian plains.
Cascading arpeggios carry the rework throughout, underlying a deep, moving harmony from his huge array of warm synthesizers, while TR-909 hi-hats and sparkling cymbals delight the upper frequencies.
