Croatia’s Insolate debuts on Ben Sims’ Symbolism imprint with the ’Sins’ EP.
The ’Sins' EP sees Insolate, a DJ/Producer and promoter who has been part of the backbone of Croatian techno since 1997, build on a neat discography that takes in benchmark imprints like Deeply Rooted, Singular and Machine as well as her own Out of Place label.
As with previous output, it's tightly-wound grooves that form the basis of the four tracks featured on Insolate's ’Sins’ and, whether employing hypnotic melodic weirdness as in the title track or focussing on rasping percussion in ‘Platform’, there isn’t a beat out of place. ‘Pravda’ and ‘Breather’ sit somewhere between, with gritty drums working below subtly shifting leads that nimbly dart in and out of the rhythm tracks.
