The brilliantly consistent Dutch techno artist Jeroen Search delivers his debut for Ben Sims’ Symbolism Ltd with the ’Targets EP’.
Having delivered one of the stand out tracks of Sims’ Tribology comp late last year in ‘Vector Sum’ (featured here in all of its glory), a full EP for the Londoner’s essential imprint is an enticing prospect that lives up to its potential.
From the slick, engrossing potency of opening cut ‘Mindset’ onward it’s clear that the ‘Targets EP’ is Search at his best. ‘Vector Sum’ is a pitch-perfect display of un-showy yet memorable techno while the weird, malfunctioning funk of ‘Facing Reality’ will not fail to ignite ‘floors. ‘Escape Velocity’ closes out the vinyl release with hypnotic flair while a digital-only bonus track, ‘X Band’ heads for the sub-aquatic depths.
