Jeroen Search and Glenn Keteleer’s Linear Search project drops ’Numb EP’ on Ben Sims’ Symbolism imprint this August.

Following releases from Pascual and Rebecca Del Pianne, the ’Numb EP’ continues a hefty run for Sims’ imprint which, until June, had been focused on its Symbolism Limited series for the past couple of years with releases from the likes of Julien H Mulder, Juan Sanchez and Jeroen Search.

’Nerve Block’ opens the ’Numb EP’ with purpose. Drifting bell tones dosed with hallucinogenic reverb set the vibe while a crisp, brisk rhythmic backbone offsets the woozy feel throughout. ’Sedation’ is up next and is anything but with pinprick, skittering drums manically driving a fever dream soundscape to the dancefloor. ‘Paralysis’ busts out the 909 claps and injects some urgent funk into proceedings with a drier, less trippy feel than its predecessors while ‘Anestesized’s undulating groove ramps up the aggression perfectly.
