KIDD10003 | 2010-11-30
Legendary house music siren LYDIA RHODES teams up with DJ/producer NEF NUNEZ & Seed Recordings main man BRADFORD JAMES on their sizzling KID Recordings debut, "HALF MOON". The set marks the first in a series of new releases from the renowned singer/songwriter who gained international acclaim for her string of club classics (and Sound Factory staples) throughout the 1990s, including "DJ, Give Me That Funky Bass"(MCA), "Live It Cool" (Pagoda/MCA), "Away" (Ultra) and "Until The Moment" (Liquid Groove).

The trio unleashes a simmering late night floor-filler oozing with Rhodes%u2019 sensual, baby-sweet vocals (akin to BJORK and ESTHERO) against a fragrant backdrop of supple keys, flittering electronic textures and a contagious chunky bassline that harkens back to the minimal deep funkiness of seminal house music classics like Cultural Vibe "Ma Foom Bey" and Bang the Party "Bang Bang You're Mine" while incorporating soulful tech house, jazz and electronic influences. The end result is a tender and poetic serenade dressed in sophisticated, organic dance grooves.

Featuring potent re-rubs from internationally renowned DJ/producer TEDD PATTERSON (who revs up the energy with deep and dark, peak-hour mix drenched in zappy synths, shuffling tribal percussions, shimmering vocals and a stealth bassline primed for maximum dance potential) and Helsinki's best kept secret, ROBERTO RODRIGUEZ (who recasts the song into a blissful and hauntingly sexy, dubby tech-house workout rippling with timbales, congas, shakers and lush chords), the single is poised to be this winter's sleeper hit and set favorite guaranteed to incite bouts of sweaty, overtly sexual dancing from people who wear sunglasses at night!
