We welcome Richard Harrington back to Progressive with the fantastic, Inside, which follows his debut, After Life which he released alongside Beat On. He followed up his debut with a superb remix for DJ MacIntyre & Hypnotiseds’ The Neotic Experience. Richard Harrington may well be a new DJ name to your ears but he is neither new or a DJ. He’s much more than that having been a prolific producer, writer based in his own London studio for the last 18 years. He has created over 400 releases on vinyl, CD and Digital download under different pseudonyms across various genres of dance music. In 2018 Richard teamed up with MSeries and created the Knoxturnal partnership, to date their remix of Sunny on Tonspiel has racked up 30,000 streams on Spotify. Great to have him back for more.

The Original Mix begins with a rolling bassline and chunky kick drum. Flurries of percussions layer up, creating a smooth rhythm. Fluid arps join in, combining with that mesmeric bassline to create a maelstrom of plucky notes. The break centres around this combination, adding emotive note changes which compliment the ghostly vocal, before a snare roll brings the track to climax and on to the final act.

Ricardo Piedra is back to BP on the remix, following up his last remix for Almi & Theus (BR)’s Wishes. Over the last few years Ricardo has racked up quite an impressive back catalogue across several labels, gaining a solid rep on the scene. Since 2016 he’s delivered 11 quality releases for us alongside just as many remixes. We’re always super impressed with his output and it’s always an exciting time when his latest efforts come through the office. He is a very much sought-after collaborator and everything he turns his hand to is sublime. The remix here ramps up the energy levels with a powerful groove that just keeps rolling and rolling. The bassline stands out, full of warmth and charm, complimented by striking synths. Ricardo has definitely gone for the emotive route, throwing out some beautiful chords with an interstellar vibe, to tug at the heart strings.

Narik returns, following up his last effort with us – Shaka EP, with a superb remix. Narik aka Johann Bomy grew up in the 70’s, experiencing all kinds of music. But it was the New Beat, House Music era that really grabbed his attention, making him passionate about electronic music in general. He was always on the lookout for the latest tracks which helped him learn about and want to know more about where the music came from. This turned into a desire to start producing and, since 2017 he has churned out a raft of quality cuts on various labels with a great support base. Narik knocks it out of the park with his interpretation. Endless waves of sweet, melodic arps cascade through the groove. The vocal overlays heighten the emotion wonderfully and keep us locked on to this classic vibe. Rich, exotic tones sweep across the sound, rendering the listener mesmerized. Superb stuff, not to be missed.
