Even the biggest secrets will come out eventually...! And so we are very excited to announce the next in the series of Dessous‘ ‚Best Kept Secrets‘ - Volume 3 no less!
Over 23 tracks Dessous Boss Steve Bug and Phonique have hand-picked some of the more illustrious B-sides, album tracks and hidden gems from the recent back-catalogue. Tracks 1-11 have been compiled by Steve Bug including four new exclusive tracks from Salvatore Freda, Andrade, Echonomist and Steve Bug himself, representing the future stars of Dessous. Tracks 12-23 have been chosen by central Dessous artist Phonique, taking us through even more hidden classics, with exclusives from Jamie Anderson & Owain K, Vincenzo & Aram, Phonique himself and Tigerskin!
As digital bonus track, this release features a DJ Mix by Phonique of his 12 compiled tracks.
From the anthemic slo-mo vibes of Vincenzo‘s beautiful ‚106 Downtown‘, featured on his recent album ‚Wherever I Lay My Head‘, to the glorious Andre Lodemann remix of Phonique‘s ‚Our Time Our Chance‘, CD1 gets straight to it, bringing you the classic Dessous mixture of deep musical vibes and addictive cutting-edge club sounds.
Up and coming producer Salvatore Freda‘s exclusive ‚Discolindo‘ lights those midnight fires with a slow cooking and sexy house cut, while tracks from 9west, Goldwill, Burnski and Tigerskin keep it tight. Newcomers to Dessous like Andrade and Echonomist both have their moment, showing off much diversity, talent and future promise, each providing one exclusive track as well. Echonomist‘s excellent ‚Give And Recieve (Revisited)‘ takes the best of deep vibin‘ New York and Chicago house and brings it sensually into the 21st century with its classy production values. Finally Steve Bug‘s incredible exclusive track ‚Do It Right‘ end the first CD with a deep chugging groove that will surely fuel many a spine-tingling moment on the dancefloor.
As we head into Phonique‘s mix, the feel good vibes are spread with the moody phasing beauty of Vincenzo‘s ‚Keep Moving‘, closely followed by stand-out jams from Dessous‘ inner-circle boys Phonique and Tigerskin.
A promising new excursion from veteran producer Jamie Anderson alongside Owain K comes in the shape of ‚Prescription‘ - a heavy house bomb whose deep bass motif and smooth chord stabs remind of the 90s yet look forward to the future!
Special moments from Langenberg‘s raw ‚Past Present‘ wash over us before the next exclusive arrives, courtesy of Vincenzo & Aram. ‚The Backyard‘ is a hot boogie house number full of Vincenzo‘s trademark glistening production, and a new slice of inspiration from his collaborator. More golden moments await from Burnski, and Jimpster‘s remix of Vincenzo‘s ‚Seduction‘, before a new exclusive from Phonique arrives with ‚Oh Come Around‘. A modern tribal jam, punctuated by crisp percussion and edgy bass energy, this is one for the more twisted moments!
Key Dessous artist Tigerskin slots in his new exclusive with ‚Too Much‘ - a synth-led jam fusing afrobeat, smooth disco vibes and as always expert studio sheen. The mix is then brought to a wonderful close with the help of Goldwill‘s traveling groover ‚Nachtzug‘.
