Tiefschwarz’s Souvenir imprint continues to push the sonic needle forward with stellar dance tracks dreamt up by innovative artists worldwide. This release is no different, with an outstanding double-header from NYC’s Sousk, the artist responsible for the brilliant Wolftrap imprint. The two tracks featured here capture Sousk’s natural ability to fuse his percussionist talents with creative electronic musicianship, capturing both the minds and the feet with his trademark left-of-center club compositions.

‘Shelter’ kicks off the release with a meaty 4/4 arrangement, complete with a rolling analog bassline, frolicking percussion and quick vocal samples which tease the listener ever so slightly. The tune is complete with subtle melodic touches gently sprinkled on top of the steady mover, giving the dancefloor a moment to feel spaced-out whilst still shaking their butts non-stop. This is deeper house music for lost minds.

Follows an incredible retouch of ‘Shelter’ from the UK’s Linkwood. The Prime Numbers and Firecracker Recordings artist provides his signature Deeper House and Techno touches, keeping the perfect elements from the original version and twisting it into an entirely different beast altogether.

Rounding Out The Release : ‘Washed Out’ is a lucid broken beat groove, centered around whimsical synth melodies that drift in and out of consciousness alongside cleverly arranged scattered percussion. It’s music for dreaming, for getting absolutely lost inside your own subconscious mind, and for eternal ravers who crave comforting emotions whilst their serotonin levels fade into the fog machine.
