Qatari phenom A.M.R makes a triumphant return to our imprint, just in time for autumn. His extraordinary "Silver Lining" EP pairs best with the soft crunch of leaves that accompanies a contemplative walk through vibrantly colored forests. Like his previous 2018 release, "Orchids," A.M.R manages to capture the mystery and heartbreaking beauty of life's seasonal transience, whether approaching the height of summer bloom or (colorfully) receding into the dark silhouettes of winter.

Gently easing the listener into expansive soundscapes, "Silver Lining" reveals an enduring optimism, in spite of the melancholic change of seasons. The subtle thud of a filtered groove emerges below the billowing clouds of melodies like a distant thunderclap, with sweeping textures falling like autumn rain. The track momentarily breaks as the storms begin to pass, then suddenly gushes forth with the unstoppable force of unbridled, awe-inspiring hope, momentarily soothing our apprehensions about an uncertain future.

LA-based vocalist Cadence XYZ joins A.M.R for "Home," adding further dimension to an already multifaceted sound. Cadence's mellow voice trails the weighty bassline like a lingering wisp of smoke. The track's somber refrain, "I am home," evokes the sentimental musings of a place once familiar, now blurred by the passing of time.

A.M.R's "Flight" is yet another masterclass in patient, subtly evocative, and affecting deep-progressive electronic music. Beginning as a few foundational keys accompanied by strings, the track soon fills the hollow spaces with gentle breaks. We revel in the aural shape that has gradually taken form, now a haunting groove punctuated by lingering piano keys.
