SCOTT DIAZ

Aged just 12, Scott Diaz caught the music bug when he borrowed a Dreamscape cassette from a school friend. In the 30 years since that pivotal event introduced him to raves, record shops and pirate radio, he's ploughed a wide and all-encompassing path, obsessively immersing himself in the history, legacy and expression of club culture.

Since landing his first residency at the age of 17, he has been a man on a musical mission. An avid vinyl collector and digger as well as a respected sound designer, engineer and artist, he's a true underground music devotee who's been steadily honing his craft since the late 90's, growing into one of the most exciting and original DJ's and producers active today.

Never one to accept being pigeon-holed, he's drawn on his many influences in a career that's seen his creative output criss-cross between vocal 2-Step, jazzy house gems, sophisticated deep cuts, jacked-up tech tracks, four-on-the-floor garage, and (almost) everything in between.

The last couple of years in particular have seen his sound evolve, with his brand of freaky, bumpin' house and classy garage grooves endearing him to a whole new set of fans who appreciate his distinctive and unique blend of sexy, swingin' party-starters; there are very few other DJ's around who can seamlessly serve up fierce US vocal house, 90's London garage, and New Jersey dubs interwoven with personal unreleased edits, rare vinyl club cuts and sleazy, stripped-back basement jams.

His no-nonsense dedication to the culture and excellently articulated wisdom about the modern music business, coupled with an uncompromising approach in regard to his artistic vision has won him many admirers, drawing plaudits and respect from luminaries and peers such as Chez Damier, Mousse T., DJ Spen, Brawther and more.

Scott has performed in numerous countries including the USA (where he lived for 5 years), Mexico, South Africa, Ibiza, and all over Europe. He's appeared at leading festivals including Defected Croatia, We Are FSTVL and Glastonbury; made radio appearances on NTS and Rinse FM; and been featured in numerous publications over the last 10 years.

His long-standing production partnership with Garage icon and pioneer Matt Jam Lamont, which spans more than 15 years, has seen them remix the likes of Raze, Craig David, All Saints, Adina Howard, and Rosie Gaines, culminating in a 2024 B2B Glastonbury appearance. They established their 'Undagrnd Freqz' imprint in 2020, serving up a slew of releases including a collaboration with UKG royalty Todd Edwards, and 'Haribo' with Smokey 'Bubblin' B', - a record which now has more than a million streams and 36 million views as part of Fred Again..'s now legendary Boiler Room set. The story continues with an upcoming vinyl-only release - suitably titled 'The Best of Both Worlds' - a nod to their skill for fusing the best elements of both house and garage.

His DJ career continues to scale new heights, with headline dates in Paris, Portugal, Philadelphia and more. Other notable recent highlights include consecutive appearances at Glastonbury's iconic queer utopia The NYC Downlow, and bookings for BeeYou & The Cause's 6th Birthday event in London. His debut appearance in the Downlow was a truly defining career moment, garnering attention from the likes of Mella Dee, NTS' Moxie and Block9 curator and co-founder Gideon himself - who publicly praised Scott's closing set as 'one of the best in the entire 16-year history of the Downlow'.
