U2R

U2R represents a collective of producers led by JC Unique. Collaborators included among others, Jay Funk and Danny Jay who between them promoted UK Garage events, ran underground record shops and had successful careers as DJ's in their own right. Formed in the mid 90's, U2R was part of a community of UKG producers releasing music largely on white labels under pressing and distribution deals, occasionally drawing a thin line between bootlegging and originating.
The vinyl-based UKG scene came to a fairly abrupt end with the largest underground distributor collapsing and most producers moving on to pastures new. U2R retuned in 2014 under the helm of JC Unique and the digitally re-born label 'Unique 2 Rhythm Records' which released a respected selection of tunes in the following years which in more recent times was branded 'Garagehouse'.
U2R remains a project focussed on Garage sensibilities and whilst much of the available catalogue is being re-mastered and re-released, there is a good chance you'll hear something fresh in the not-so-distant future.
