A South American from the Argentinean hotbed of dance music, Jero Nougues, makes his Particles debut with "Aurora/Leviathan". An artist whose influences lie in the Chicago house scene of the 1990s, a triple-century of production credits can be found against his name for a raft of impressive imprints. A debut for Cirka Music in April 2013 quickly saw a career blossom with a distinctive tech and deep house sound with original remix material signed to the likes of Dutchie Music, Savoir Faire and Spring Tube, supported by the likes of Oliver Moldan, Mark Knight and Danny Howells.

"Aurora" is full of the trademark deep house rhythms and grooved shakers that are symptomatic of the Jero Nougues sound. Opening up with a swathe of gently pulsating pads, reverb-soaked vocal phrases filter through the mix before a series of motifs appear at a stripped back breakdown to stir interest. Hitting its stride in the third movement, the combination of rhythm and melody are fused in impressive synergy. Retaining the deep kick and rapid-fire shakers of its predecessor, the darker edged "Leviathan" can be felt through rich and sustained bass notes that fire against a shimmering arpeggio and textured pads. Evolving elegantly, new motifs rise out of the rhythmic foundation in the latter movements as vocal swells add intrigue and suspense.

An accomplished DJ with a list of residencies that include Pacha Ibiza Dubai, Trilogy and an ambassador for Sennheiser Middle East, Ejaz Ahamed has been at the centre of Dubai's music scene for a number of years. With his standout performances alongside Digweed, Cattaneo and Bodzin, a nascent production portfolio began with a remix for high-flying, PHW Elements. A pair of remixes for Tripp Baronner's Yin label further enhanced a growing reputation as Ahamed now debuts on Particles remixing Jero Nougues. Taking a strong rhythmic approach, a wonderfully hypnotic groove of simple bass and melodic motif forms a framework for the pads and vocal phrasing so central to "Aurora" to open up with sumptuous ease. Additional production work and synth lines make their presence felt in the breakdown and third movement as the scintillating rhythmic groove supplies dancefloor credentials.

Konstantin Alt needs little introduction to progressive house faithful with his LoQuai alter-ego. An artist with an enviable reputation for high-quality production work, over 1,000 production credits can be found against the German's name since a 2005 debut. Over a decade later and LoQuai's work can be found on some of underground dance's finest imprints including Mistique Music, Balkan Connection and his own, highly-respected Refined Tunes. A regular on Particles with such highlights as 2014's "The Native Language" and 2015's "Beat Meditation", remixes of Ad Brown and Andrew Benson, James Monro and Navid Mehr are now joined by a typically impressive reworking of "Leviathan". Retaining the essence of Jero Nougues' original, a raft of new production material creates a new melodic narrative that lifts the track in a new direction. A strong rhythmic backdrop ensures dancefloor credentials are retained as the LoQuai remix evolves delicately into the second half with a rare combination of skill and technique.

Glowing brightly with Jero Nougues' "Aurora/Leviathan", remixes from Ejaz Ahamed and LoQuai continue to radiate light.
