Behind the funky name AXWELL is 20 year old Swedish producer Axel Hedfors, based in Lund, Sweden.
Axwell has been creating computer based music since the age of 13 and before that he was banging on the drums. After several tunes delivered straight out to the rave scene on tapes, he got his first 12" inch, Tranquility EP, released on Cosmic One Records in1995, a record in the hard trance genre where the track "Listening Comprehension Test" appeared on Gary D presents D-Trance 3.
In 1996 two releases in the same genre followed, "Output EP" and "Pulze EP" on Viper Records. So far the alias OXL was used, but after beeing ripped off by the label he started all over with a phat new groovy sound under the name Axwell on Stoney Boy Music (his first release under this name).
Also featured on his Stoney Boy debut is a Fast, Funky and Furious StoneBridge remix that will take care of the patented Stoney Boy Music energetic peak hour sound. Expect this to drop big time on all funky floors soon!
