Tenerife’s Alberto Segador joins Roush in early July with his ‘My Own Thing’ EP, alongside remixes from System2, GruuvElement’s & Thomas Cerutti. A well-known figure in his native homeland of Tenerife, Alberto Segador has been regular name since the 90’s, with key residencies across the island and mainland Spain, whilst combining funk and soul with classic American house influences within his sets and productions. Following previous releases on the likes of Safe Music, Inside Label and Go Deeva, the Spaniard now joins Roush to deliver his ‘My Own Thing’ EP to kick start summer. Segador’s original of ‘My Own Thing’ sees the Spaniard combine tracky drums underneath classic vocal samples and driving snare rolls, before Manchester’s System2 beefs up the original and lays the focus on rolling percussion loops and rumbling low end sub tones. Romanian duo GruuvElement’s are next up with their groove focused interpretation, fusing slick drum kicks and a bumping bassline with a glitchy lead synth, before Thomas Cerutti shapes up the EP as he employs skipping percussion and echoed out vocal loops throughout.
Alberto Segador ‘My Own Thing’ is out on Roush on 2nd July 2018.
