Fresh sounds from the east of Belgium reached camp Cashminus, where young duo Pelace has been hiding in their bunker sculpting apocalyptic machine jams through the use of various appliances (including a Korg Poly61, Korg M1, Korg Mono/poly, a Roland JX3P and drum machines alike). The result is debut EP "Back Together", a collection of effortless grooves to soundtrack nocturnal rides across sleepy metropoles. We kick into first gear with the meditative "You Should Not Be Sorry", where bubbling acidic undertones are mirrored by lucid, naive melodies. Next up, the spoken word sample and hard hitting breakbeats of "Like Her" take us back to the future, its dark, chugging groove evoking apocalyptic visions of robotic romance. "Lost & Found" takes no prisoners: an irresistible groove powered by unscrupulous toms forms the perfect backdrop for a ballet of playful, fidgety tones. Could this be what dancing drones sound like? Finally, the melancholic strings and compelling drums of "Back Together" end this ride on a high. The sun's coming up, it's time to go home.
