GIN TONIC is Monofunk's sixth reference, the third for Marcos In Dub on Madrid's label. House, Cosmic House and Space Disco in an ep which is perfect to take under the sun of the most summer-like Spring, with plenty, plenty ice. Pink47 Original Mix is the slower track in the ep: an hypnotic loop, an elegant kick and a bassline on top pf pads that draw an infinite melody that elevates you and gently drops you throughout the track. Suggestion: Ideally served with mint leaves.Peter Herbert's London Gin Remix ( Maxi Discs, Eskimo) fills the ep with color, with its Disco melodies, a deep bassline and a keyboard orgy that take the remix to the "instant classic" category. Suggestion: serve with cherries in syrup.Alvaro Cabana (Gimmick Records, 7 senses), proves how versatile he can be with a double remix for Monofunk's fifth. In Blue Ribbon, Cabana provides a both organic and psychedelic remix, whereas in Saffron Gin, he plays around with the brightest and hardest electronic funk. Suggestion: it's advisable to taste Blue Ribbon with small strawberry pieces. Orange skin adds a citrus touch to Saffron Gin which balances the cocktails flavours perfectly.
