addvibe has been deeply involved in most aspects of music from his childhood. A true pioneer dancer/bboy, Dj, records collector and producer in Norway. At the age of nine, addvibe was exposed to musical flavors like Creole, reggae and afro by his new “father”, as his mother married a man from Cape Verde. Through hip hop he learned about rap, funk, jazz, electro and disco. What samples was, and how to sample, was elementary at this time. In 1987 he made it to the DMC world championship mixing competition, where he impressed with a sixth place. This brought him to dj in both Spanish main land and Spanish isles, at a time when European clubbers embraced house as housemusic was flooding in from the USA.

Never stopped dj’ing, dj addvibe then started to produce and release funk, disco and jazz inspired house music under various aliases, first on his own Thang records. The first time 'addvibe' was used as a moniker was in 1996 on a vinyl release called Thang Vol 1. The label got distribution by legendary peppermint jam in 1996. Still in the early days he signed deals with a variety of different labels like Beatservice Records, DFR, Defender music and Ten pin/Nice&Ripe.

A string of 12' from the 2000 album, and the album itself, “luv and happiness,” brought rave reviews from both international music press and wide range of DJs and producers like Harvey, Tom Middleton, Lars Behrenroth, Monte la Rue, Laurent Garnier, Rainer Truby and Mark Gorbulew. The track “Brothers” was remixed by the masters of NY house Mateo & Matos. The release party for the album was held at the famous club Cargo in London. After this it was time to settle down and start a family life.

Times flies, and the lust for creativity had grown over a long period of time. So after many years of absence, in 2014 It was time to once again gather some strong forces and relaunch the addvibe project, together with few new monikers as well. The comeback brought forth several releases on various labels as Cyberjamz, Global Diplomacy, Openbar music, Kolour recordings, Arawakan, George V Records, Stellar disco records, Giant Cuts, Masterworks, Midnight Riot, Glasgow Underground and Vier Deep Digital.

In other words, addvibe started the way he ended it, with rave feedbacks, reviews, collaborations, global support and chartings. Most notable is definitely his single release 'Akabe,' remixed by Dj Fudge, made it to number 1 in Traxsource Afro chart, staying on top for weeks. Also his 'Sada' release on Global Diplomacy, remixed by N'Dinga Gaba, made an incredible impact on the afro house scene.

So despite a string of releases as addvibe and other monikers the last four years, he has quietly and steady worked on the album material, collaborating with several musicians from around the globe. addvibe has also stretched and honed his skills along the way as well, doing some of the vocals, all percussion and playing some keys himself. What does the album 'we' sound like?

We think it sounds like +30 years of inspiration and experience! 15 songs strong album, covering afro, deep house, soulful house, house, disco house and jackin house. addvibe dives deep into afro on 'When in doubt' and 'Kashi mama.' While 'Borasus,' 'Sweet dreams' and 'Darkest hour' is deep house extravaganza. The more energized dancefloors gets their workout on the funky disco tracks like 'I wanna (thank you)' and 'The piano.' Also worth mentioning is the deep vocal song 'Nothing back,' with Camilla Luna.

'The album tittle is a reflection of a goal I have had all my life, WE are better of working together.'
