Since his last EP Pillow Talk, Wantigga has been very busy producing for others artists e.g. Damso, releasing an African-inspired EP together with his fellow KLEAR Agency members The Flexican, Jengi & Jaël, making remixes and edits and visiting Asia multiple times for tours.
Now he is back with his second project ‘Suddenly Everything’, a 5 titles EP full of energy.
Wantigga skillfully mixes instruments and genres. The sound is surreal and meditative somewhere between a punchy electronic sound and a soft atmospheric one. Wantigga has managed to express himself in a very honest and genuine manner like awaking after a deep Meditation.
Residing in the Netherlands, DJ and Producer Jonathan Tan AKA Wantigga, has been making beats in his hometown Deventer since he was a kid. He was raised with a lot of gospel, soul and jazz music. As an autodidact musician, he taught himself to play several instruments, but his interest turned quickly to electronic music and hip-hop. He made a name for himself with his flips of RnB classic, which got picked up by labels such as HW&W and Soulection.
Highlight of his career so far has been his collaboration with Belgium rapper Damso with whom he made the track Lové, which went gold on Damso’s triple platinum album. Wantigga’s latest work consists of an African-inspired collaborative EP, Les Demoiselles D’Avignon, he made together with The Flexican, Jengi & Jaël.
As part of the KLEAR Agency in Amsterdam, Wantigga became acquainted with Parisian Label Roche Musique, which resulted in Wantigga’s first EP Pillow Talk being released on Roche Musique. Now almost 2 years later, his forthcoming EP is planned to be released on Roche Musique as well in March 2018.
