Making a strong statement in the early part of 2017, Pete K made significant strides with his "Inner Circle 2" EP on Proton Music. With "Andromeda" already receiving high-class remixes in May, Particles now sees a set of remixes with new interpretations of "Perseu" from Russian and Canadian talents.
Ivan Romanovsky, has provided a huge contribution to the underground dance scene with well over a thousand production credits to his name under his Ewan Rill soubriquet. A regular across the dancefloors of St. Petersburg Moscow and his native Siberia, he has shared the DJ booth with such luminaries as Matt Darey, Ferry Corsten and Jerome Isma-Ae. Honing his production sound and perfecting his craft over several years, Ewan Rill became a regular on the Balkan Connection imprint after a debut in mid 2011. Responsible for almost a double century of credits for the label, Stellar Fountain, Suffused Music and Spring Tube Limited are but a few of the legion names that have found a home for the Ewan Rill sound.
An appearance on the "Winter Particles 2015" compilation went on to see a full release of Rill's "Beat Meditation" and it is with great pleasure that we now welcome him back. With trademark rhythmic flair and intelligence, the Ewan Rill remix of "Perseu", builds effortlessly with a wonderful bass line vibe and driving arpeggio, used as a platform for melodies from the original to shimmer majestically across Rill's copious additional production material. Coming together to reach their zenith in the third movement in impressive fashion, Rill's work is as majestic as ever.
A child prodigy from an early age with subsequent classical violin training, Robert Mason, had all the necessary credentials in place to help him become one of Canada's leading musical exports. A performing violinist and ever-inquisitive, experimentation into the world of electronic music production led to unique ability to combine the years of classical music training and composition with a thorough understanding of synthesis, sequencing and sound design. Mason's "sonic journey" has thus led him to discover a "modernised aural landscape" in both the production and live arenas. A regular contributor to his own Modern Agenda imprint, further work has seen Mason hit the catalogues of Stripped, The Purr and Paul Hazendonk's MNL.
Making his debut on Particles, it is an honour to welcome Robert Mason to the label with a beautifully crafted interpretation of "Perseu". Taking the seeds of Pete K's musical ideas, Mason has remodelled them, allowing them to blossom into a wealth of new conceptions that glisten and shimmer across a near nine-minute journey. Held within a crisp musical shell of rich bass groove and percussive precision, motifs and counterpoint melodies drift through new and delicate progressions that epitomise the Robert Mason sound.
A pair of new remixes see Pete K's "Perseu" shining brightly through Ewan Rill and Robert Mason.
