Monkey Brothers aka restless soul productions cohorts Mike Patto and Felix Hopkins are back!!! Some three years after their debut release Some Of What You Got' came out on Tony Humphries Yellow Orange label they mark their return to wax with a wondrous new single. Invisible is seriously classy and uplifting, containing all the essential credentials to get any dancefloor bubbling over!
Mike Patto (of Papas enormously popular soulful outfit Reel People) is probably one of busiest musicians / songwriters of his genre, working not only on the Reel People project, but also with Nathan Haines and his band and his work for restless soul productions. Felix Hopkins is an acclaimed producer and engineer who run the Fluidity studio where many a restless soul release has been recorded. You may also recognise him as the man behind the Black Box Technology releases for Classic Records.
Effortlessly soulful vocals come courtesy of Rikki Collins and the UKs coolest diva Vanessa Freeman, their combined talents being nothing short of a match made in heaven. The sublimely talented Vanessa Freeman, fast becoming one of the UK's most respected singers, has recently been recording and touring with Reel People & the Nathan Haines band, and is currently recording her debut solo album for Chillifunk records. Rikki Collins is quite the modern day minstrel. Originally hailing from Oxford, he spent his formative years moving between US airforce bases with his father, a staff sergeant in the US air force, and also a part time DJ. His dad inspired Rikkis love of music and from a young age he set about developing his musical skills. Returning to the UK in his late teens Rikki began began to realise his ambitions. He was in a band called Onyx (a Jazz Funk collective, not the rugged Hip Hop crew!!!) and had a project called Cypher with Toni Economides (KV5 / Da Lata). He has recently been writing & recording demos for his forthcoming debut album.
Distant Music front man and head honcho Jon Cutler returns to Papa, adding his unique signature creating a beautiful reworking with shunting raw, percussive beats over an infectious bass groove, creating an altogether deeper affair.
