Originally released in 1995, "Freak Like Me" was a bold statement of female empowerment, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning platinum status. With its sultry vocals, sexually confident lyrics, and samples from Bootsy Collins and Sly & the Family Stone, the track helped redefine gender norms in R&B and paved the way for artists like Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown. Directed by Hype Williams, the video only amplified its fearless energy.
