George Pettus Jr., also known as G.P., is a Grammy-nominated and Sports Emmy Award-winning music producer and multi-instrumentalist from Southampton, New York. The son of MCA recording artist Giorge Pettus, George Jr. taught himself multiple instruments and began performing early in life. Over a 25-year career, he has worked with artists like Beyoncé, Chaka Khan, Brian McKnight, and Melba Moore. Now based in Austin, Texas, he serves as Minister of Music at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and performs with All U Need & The Foundation. In recognition of his impact, the city of Austin declared July 18 as "George Pettus Day."
