Kicking off the New Year in a fresh stylee, we release the first instalment of their new occasional series, where we give free reign to one of our favourite producers to remix any track from the Papa back catalogue. First up is pioneer of all things Broken, Domu, who actually took it upon himself to tackle not one but two of our 2005 releases Simon Greys The Galactica Suite and The Realm & Vs One Chance.

First up is Simon Greys The Galactica Suite. This rework really shows us why Domu is one of the most exciting beat men of our age, cutting and manipulating an old jazz break to the point of ecstasy. Reminiscent of the classic Afronaught Transend Me this version is already going down a storm at London club night Co-op with support from Bugz In The Attic & IG Culture amongst others. Following this comes Domus remake of The Realm & Vs One Chance. Taking just the original vocal, Domu rebuilds it around his trademark heavy beats and some edgy synth chords that are guaranteed to make this an instant club favourite, complimented by a fat dub rounding off this super heavy package from the Broken Beat don!

Domu aka Dominic Stanton is one of the leading producers to emerge from the West London's broken beat community. His career began in the mid 90s, starting out as a Hip Hop DJ, developing a love of UK Hip Hop that in turn turned him on to the emergent Drum & Bass scene. Soon his first productions, under the Sonar Circle moniker, appeared on 4Heros hugely respected and influential Drum & Bass imprint Reinforced. These Sonar Circle releases highlighted his love for experimentation and a wide range of influences from Jazz, Funk and Brazilian grooves through to Jungle and Detroit Techno, which continue to influence his work to this day. In 1999 he made his debut as Domu for Degos (4Hero) newly formed 2000 Black label and theres been no looking back. Since his debut Domu album, Up & Down, was released on Archive in 2001 hes been nothing less than prolific. In addition to numerous singles and remixes there%u2019s also been album projects such as Bakura Reach The Sky (Especial, Japan), Yokoto Wet Ink (Delsin), Rima Worlds (Jazzanova Compost Records), Umod Enter The Umod (Sonar Kollektiv) and 2005s brand new Domu album Return Of The Rogue (Archive). No stranger to the Papa camp, the 2002 debut single release for his Rima project, Try To Understand, was released on Papa and he has also lent his skills to the highly acclaimed Reel People, programming the drums on single The Rain, and he also features on Reel Peoples cover of Thelma Houstons You Used To Hold Me So Tight which will see the light of day shortly on Defected Records re-vamped re-issue of the Second Guess album.
